The Fjellheisen cable car brings you from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to Storsteinen, 421 meters above sea level, in just four minutes. Catch a lift to fantastic views of the city and the beautiful Aurora Borealis – this is the best place to see the Northern Lights in Tromsø. Journey up and down the mountain in about 5 minutes with Fjellheisen Cable Car. Providing a regular service, the cable car operates every full and half hour. Each gondola has a capacity of approximately 28 passengers, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable ride for everyone. If we are unable to accommodate everyone on the first journey, we will add another journey subsequently.

We also provide shuttle bus that offers hourly departures from the city center of Tromsø, with convenient returns from Tromsdalen, running daily throughout the winter season.  This easy connection ensures a smooth and hassle-free journey between Tromsø’s city center and Fjellheisen. In just a short ride, you’ll be at the lower station of Fjellheisen cable car, ready to ascend the mountain. Enjoy breathtaking views as you reach the top in no time.

  • Shuttle Bus: Departing from Tourist Shop Tromsø Havn, Kirkegata 2, Tromsø at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00
  • Shuttle Bus: Returning from Fjellheisen Cable Car, Sollivegen 12, Tromsdalen at 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:15, 15:15 and 16:15

Cancellation policy

  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 0-7 days or less before the event
  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 8 days or more before the event
