Private Finnish Sauna and Ice Fishing with Lappish Lunch

The guide will lead you to the lakeside base located in the primeval forest of Lapland. We will take you to experience the most intimate ice fishing experience on Arctic lakes. The guide will prepare ice fishing equipment for you and demonstrate how to dig an ice hole on the glacial lake. Then he will put out the line and quietly wait for the fish to take the bait, while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Arctic ice and snow world. The guide will prepare a campfire and drinks for you, and once the fish is caught, you can cook it on site! We have also prepared smoked salmon or sausages for you. Whether we can catch fish or not, we can enjoy the authentic life of Lapland around the campfire with a cup of warm hot blueberry tea.

After lunch, we started enjoying an authentic traditional Finnish sauna. In the wooden sauna, stones are piled on the stove. The guide will heat the stones in advance and prepare cold water for you. When you enter the sauna and splash cold water on the stones, the entire wooden house will be filled with hot water vapor in an instant, and your body will be surrounded by steam. After sweating profusely, you can immediately jump into the glacial lake or roll in the snowdrifts like the locals do to cool down your body instantly, and then enter the sauna… repeat this several times, and finally dry your whole body.
